Guidelines for Referring Patients

Currently, the only service available to ponsored patients through this program is cataract surgery. It is anticipated that other forms of surgical eye care will at some point become available. If you have questions regarding a patient who needs surgery other than cataract surgery, please contact the medical director, Dr. Bradley Katz at bradley.katz@hsc.utah.edu

Patients who are found to be medically eligible, financially eligible, and are selected to participate in this program will receive a comprehensive examination and treatment at the Moran Eye Center. If the patient requires a prosthesis, this will also be provided, but only in conjunction with surgery performed at the Moran Eye Center. Eligible patients will also be referred for Low Vision Services, if necessary.
